Before anyone is activated for matching, we meet with each prospective member one-on-one. This helps us get to know you, ask more detailed questions, and ensure that everyone in our community is a real person.

After your introductory call, you can decide whether and when you’d like to join a monthly community support membership.

You can apply and remain in our database for free. We offer optional sliding-scale monthly memberships for those who want to support the ongoing work of matchmaking and community growth.

Membership is not tied to guaranteed matches or dates. Instead, it helps sustain the service so that we can continue recruiting new members, reviewing profiles, and making thoughtful introductions over time.

You are always free to start, stop, or change your membership based on what feels right for you.

Ahava Northwest is a small startup that we currently run largely as a mitzvah and community service.

Monthly support helps cover basic operating costs, including:

No. We don’t guarantee a specific number of matches or dates.

We prioritize quality over quantity and focus on making intentional introductions rather than rushing or setting minimums.

If we already have someone in mind who may be a good fit for you, we’ll let you know during your introductory call. If not, we’ll continue to consider you as new members join.

Matching timelines vary based on preferences, availability, and who is currently in the database. For some people, matches may come quickly; for others, it may take longer. As a growing startup, we want to be transparent that timelines can vary.

When we identify a potential match, we first share basic details and one photo with each person. If both parties say yes, we coordinate a first date.

We collect general availability and arrange a low-pressure first meeting at a convenient, affordable location for both people.

First dates are intentionally limited to 30-45 minutes. This keeps things low-stakes and makes it easier to say yes or no without obligation. It’s always okay to say, “The matchmakers suggested we keep this to 30 minutes.”

We don’t expect members to exchange personal contact information during the first three dates. After each date, feedback is shared directly with us. If interest is mutual, we’ll arrange the next date.

After the third date, if both people would like to continue, we exchange contact information and step back so you can take it from there.

We don’t want finances to be a barrier to finding connection.

That’s why we offer sliding-scale monthly memberships at $5, $10, and $18. All membership levels receive the same access and consideration.

If even the reduced rate feels out of reach, please reach out, we’re always happy to talk.

We also intentionally choose affordable first date locations and don’t expect anyone to spend more than about $10 on a beverage or treat. First dates are meant to be casual, comfortable, and low-pressure.
